38th Annual Pacific Rim Kite Festival will be happening in a couple of weeks!
Sponsored by the British Columbia Kiteflyers Association (bcka.bc.ca), there’s Kids Kite Making Workshops, Candy & Teddy Bear Drops, Face Painting, Kite Displays & Demonstrations, Music & Refreshments.
This year, featuring Ray Bethel, Island Quad and Connor Doran from America’s Got Talent.
June 8th & 9th 10:00 – 4:00, Vanier Park, Vancouver, BC, rain or shine!
Just a reminder, April’s fun fly is this Sunday, at Vanier Park in Vancouver! It’s also National Kite Month!
Members…Just a reminder of the fun fly this Sunday March 10th at Ambleside beach in North Vancouver. Hope for sunny skies and gently winds.
Plans for the Spring Sewing for Summer Soaring kite maker’s retreat April 26th, 27th, and 28th in Parksville have been finalized!
We have something for everyone this year…an applique banner project presented by Sharon Musto, and a no-sew della-porta kite presented by Paul Horner.

For those attending the kite making retreat, once again there will be raffle prize draws at this year’s event. Donations of kite related items; gift cards; certificates etc. would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go back into the club for its various activities and events.

Volunteers are urgently needed for our Kite Kit Assembly project, Sunday February 24th at the Steveston Community Centre, 4111 Moncton Street in Richmond at 12:30pm. Come help assemble our kits for the 2013 festival season. Your help would be kindly appreciated.

Please note, there will be an Executive and Festival Committee member meeting at 11:00 prior to the kite kit assembly workshop. Please be sure to attend! We have lots to discuss regarding this year’s events, as well as planning for the upcoming festivals.
